This is a three day lesson plan on orienteering for Oceanography
Prior to this students have spent time learning about Topography.
Day 1
Students will be broken in to three groups and follow directional clues around the school following directions of North, South, East and West. School Scavenger Hunt.doc
At each new station the students will find the next clue and pick up a piece to the puzzle.
Once all groups have returned to the classroom, the students will put together the puzzle and find out if they found all clues.
Day 2
Students will break into groups of two.
Students will be given a brief lesson on orienting and using the compass.
Students will be given a compass, a marker and directions
Students will proceed to the Stadium.
Each group will complete the three tasks each taking a turn using the compass. Orienteering Day 2.doc
Day 3
Students will be broken into three groups.
